The Comprehensive Plan has been adopted to protect and enhance the relationship between Village residents and their natural surroundings. Mettawa is a low-density rural residential community with many acres of private open spaces. As a result, this Plan is to provide guidance to the Village officials by creating a sustainable environment composed of three interrelated parts; social, economic and physical.  The intend of this plan is not to stop growth, rather guide development to ensure it conforms to the goals of Village residents. The Comprehensive Plan is intended to provide the support and legal framework to the regulations contained in the Zoning Ordinance.
